Hi there,
Three things crossed my desk this week, and together they tell the two halves of one story. Five new BIM tools that quietly do the dimensioning, tagging and clash-checking your team still does by hand. The two-year lesson from building AEC Tech Jobs across three cities - and the Chicago event where the three of us finally meet in person. Plus a list of 20 ConTech companies hiring right now. On one side, software removing manual work; on the other, a sector that's funded, hiring and organising fast behind it.
Below: the posts that got people talking, a hands-on marketing day in Chicago worth knowing about, five new tools in the ConTech database, this week's videos, and one role worth noticing.
Let's get into it. 👇
What Sparked the Most Discussion This Week
Your BIM team spends hours each week on work software can now do for them. 5 New BIM Tools that save you time
Here are 20 ConTech companies that are hiring today.
Two years working together and 49,000 followers between us. Times we have met in person? 0..
Live Event Coming in September 10th, Chicago
A marketing day built for ConTech founders - Chicago, 10 September
If you run a construction technology company - or you're the early-team person who somehow ended up owning marketing - this one's for you. On 10 September we're running a practical, workshop-style day in Chicago: marketing guidance for ConTech founders and early teams that you can't easily get anywhere else.
Not a conference. Not a keynote-led draw. A working session built around worksheets, live workshopping and facilitated discussion - kept deliberately small so everyone leaves with real work done on their own positioning, owned media and distribution.
The difference is who's running it: a team that does owned media and client engagements in this exact space every day. That's practical, experience-based marketing help for ConTech companies - the thing the market can't easily buy off the shelf.

New this week in the ConTech database
Each week I will continue to share new software added to the ADDD Database and specific categories of software to help you find the right solutions and stay up to date on what is emerging out there. See example from last month:

One Role Worth Noticing This Week
“Construction is one of the largest industries on Earth, and one of the last to be transformed by software. Buildings are still designed with tools that make skilled experts spend weeks manually drawing what machines should generate in minutes. Augmenta is building the foundation model for construction that automates this building design process.
Electrical contractors are using it on live commercial projects right now, cutting modeling time by up to 6X. Over 40 buildings (from elementary schools to hyperscale datacenters) designed with ACP have already been built or are being built. After years of R&D, we have a product customers demonstrably love - and a roadmap that's far bigger than the product we've built so far.
That's why we're hiring a Senior Product Manager: to own the product execution of ACP and drive it through its most exciting phase - from a breakthrough product to the platform an entire industry designs in.”

What this issue means for you
Put the three posts side by side and you get the two halves of the same story. On one side, software steadily removing manual work - the dimensioning, tagging, clash checks and information hunting that still eat your team's week. On the other, the ecosystem behind that software: funded companies hiring hard, a jobs board handling 600+ roles a week, founders organising and meeting up. ConTech isn't a fringe experiment any more. It's a sector with real momentum.
For a practice leader, that matters in two ways. The tools you adopt now come from companies better funded and better staffed than they were even a year ago - which means faster development and more support, but also more noise to filter. And the same pull drawing talent into ConTech is talent leaving, or never entering, traditional practice. The move is the same either way: know where your own manual overhead sits before you buy, and keep an eye on who's building the tools you'll depend on. If you haven't mapped that overhead yet, the free readiness guide at techblueprint.carrd.co is the fastest way to start.
