Hi there,

Quick one this week - not the usual round-up.

I'll be in Chicago from Monday 7th (Labor Day) through Friday 11th September, and I'm keen to some of that time with practices to talk about AI, Workflows, Technology and current challenges.

If you're an architect, practice leader, BIM Manager or Digital Design Lead in or around the city, I'd like to meet up - at your office, over a coffee or however works for you - and talk through whatever's live for your practice right now. For example, if where AI actually earns its place in your workflow, how to structure a technology strategy, what's worth automating first, workflows or just what's not working yet.

If you'd like to meet, just reply to this email - tell me a bit about your practice and what's on your mind, and I'll find a slot that works for both of us.

The AI & Workflow Workshop

Some of these conversations might be worth more time. If your practice wants to go deeper while I'm in town, I also run a focused half-day workshop I've used with practices back home to get a clear, shared read on where AI and workflow gaps actually sit.

It brings together a cross-section of the practice - leadership, project architects, BIM or Digital Design Leads - for a facilitated session covering where the practice currently loses the most time, where AI could genuinely help versus where it's just noise, and where the real constraints sit in your software stack and workflows. You get a written summary afterwards: the themes that came up, the quick wins, and where to focus first.

It's not a full audit - it's a fast way to get clarity before committing to anything. If that's useful while I'm in Chicago, just mention it when you reply.

Hope to meet a few of you in person,

Thanks for reading!

Richard won’t be coming to Chicago this time unfortunately.
